Manohar takes BJP to task for price hike

KATHUA, June 30: Former Minister and district president, Congress Kathua, Dr Manohar Lal today criticized the administration for not allowing him and other Congress activists to participate in the dharna at Kathua against price hike, unemployment and failure of BJP Government at Centre on all fronts the call for which was given by AICC.
Talking to reporters here, today, he termed the action of the administration totally undemocratic which he said was done on behest of BJP to hide its lapses and failures in solving the problems of the masses. He said protesting against the price hike of essential commodities especially petrol and diesel, problems faced by people due to COVID pandemic, rising unemployment etc is the democratic right of every individual and by not allowing him and his party men to take part in the protest yesterday was totally against the democratic rights of the people.
Accusing BJP of its failure on every front he said situation in J&K is deteriorating day by day and asked what happened to the promises made by the party during the elections to the masses.
Meanwhile continuing its protest against Central Government on rising price hike in petrol & diesel, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma , Ex MLC Subash Gupta, EX MLA, G L Chalotra today conducted one day sit in protest at Ghagwal in district Samba. While speaking on the occasion Dr Sharma said that BJP has engaged in organized loot and termed continuous rising fuel prices a new method of extortion from the public. While lambasting the Government, Manohar said that public will not tolerate this loot of people’s money by the Modi Government and demanded immediate roll back of the rising prices.
Further he said that crude prices have been following a slippery trend as prices have been falling steeply. According to fuel price decontrol, on paper, retail prices of petrol and diesel in India are linked to global crude prices. Since the price of crude is falling, end product prices must come down but surprisingly in India they are going upwards, he added.
