JAMMU, Aug 22: Minister for Cooperative Dr. Manohar Lal sharma today inspected the Government Press and took stock of its functioning.
On the occasion, the Minister interacted with the employees and enquired about their grievances and other problems faced by them. He was apprised about the working of the press and quantum of work load with regard to printing for all Government departments including election material.
The Minister inspected various sections of the press which included book depot, store, reading section and others and asserted on modernization so as to meet the increasing demand. He also convened a meeting with the officers of the Government press to acquaint himself with the basic problems and demands. He emphasized on maintaining quality and speedy disposal.
He directed the Manager to prepare a proposal for modernization and automation of the Press by adding latest technology especially in the binding section which is still manual operated .
He assured to look into the grievances putforth by the employees for early redressal.
