JAMMU, Oct 18: Minister of State for Cooperative, Finance, Higher Education Science and Technology, Stationery and Printing, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today inaugurated the upgraded wholesale cooperative super bazaar branch here at Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar.
The branch has been made consumer friendly with computerisation billing and addition of variety of daily need items with much lesser rates as compared to the market.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Manohar Lal asked the consumers to avail the facility of these super bazaars which are offering best quality products at lower rates. He said that there was difference of five to ten percent in rates of all the consumable items from that of the market.
The Minister said that the cooperative business has shown tremendous improvement with an annual turnover of Rs 10 crore, adding that the organisation is looking forward to fetch Rs 15 crore during the next fiscal. He said every effort was being made to revive and strengthen the cooperative movement in the State and all the cooperative shops will be made fully functional to cater to the needs of the consumers and generate more revenue.
Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Rohit Khajuria, General Manager Cooperative, Ramkesh Sharma, Deputy Registrar, Uttam Chand, Additional Registrar Cooperative, Jammu, District Audit Officer Cooperatives, Deputy Registrar Cooperative (Consumer) besides other functionaries and people were present on the occasion.
