Manohar highlights issues of Billawar area

KATHUA, Jan 22: Despite rain and bad weather former minister and DCC Kathua president Dr Manohar Lal Sharma convened several public meetings in Billawar constituency and projected public issues.
While addressing meetings at Lahri and Dharlata, Dr Sharma said serving the people is his prime motto and nothing can stop him from reaching to his people. He said during his tenure two link roads Mangar to Dharalta and Dharalta to Salhari were sanctioned and undertaken for work but during last 4 years even black topping of the said roads has not taken place. The water supply position and power situation is also grim in the area.
He further said that previous BJP-PDP Govt was a total failure in providing basic facilities to people such  as road networks, water supply and health facilities and even failed to maintain the development works initiated by previous Congress Government. He said many development works were carried by him such as status of Backward area to Dharalta , allotment of High School Dharalta, Middle school at Manger and Samar villages, 100  percent  electrification of Dharalta , commissioning of water supply scheme by which 70 percent Dharalta got water. But BJP Govt failed to implement the said scheme. He said work on Upar Dhar to Dharalta road was started in 2014 but till today this road is incomplete.
During meeting  people made a demand of link  road from  Lahri to further villages and one motorable bridge on Panjal nullah.
Sarpanh Mukesh Kumar, Bishen Kumar, Karnail Singh, Janak Raj Verma, Sham Sapolia, Parveen Kumar and Puran Chand also spoke on the occasion.
