Manohar convenes Public Grievance Camp

KATHUA, Dec 11: Minister of State for Cooperatives, Finance and Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today said Coalition Government is striving hard to make far off kandi and hilly areas accessible with roads and other basic amenities to ensure their growth at par with other areas of the State.  He said this while addressing a Public Grievance Camp at PWD Rest House in Billawar.
The deputations lead by Panchs and Sarpanchs of different Panchayats apprised the Minister about their problems and demands.
Sarpanch Koug Tara Chand Gupta highlighted the demand of feeder as the inhabitants complaint about low voltage in the area. The other demands includes more funds for Koug Water Scheme, 4 hand pumps, demand of edging work on Koug road and pending NREGA payments.
Najote Sarpanch Chandu Ram demanded commencement of work on Bather-Najote road. Sarpanch Dhralta Panchayat demanded repair of Maangad- Middle School Dharalata Road as the road is under depilated condition. He also demanded commencement of work on Baba Kailu Road.  Other demand includes shortage of school staff and low voltage. He demanded 20 electric poles for Lakhri.
Dungada Sarpanch put forth the demand to make Dungada a model village. Aglidhar Sarpanch apprised the Minister about water problem in the area.
A local deputation projected the demand of Attendant Shed and Toilets in the complex of Sub District Hospital Billawar.
Kishanpur Sarpanch Dr Narinder Vaid demanded early completion of  Billawar – Katli Road. He also demanded early disposal of compensation in lieu of land acquired under bus stand. Sarpanch Bhaddu demanded funds for Niabat building.
Dr Manohar Lal Sharma gave a patient hearing to the demands and problems projected by the representatives. Responding to the demands, Dr Sharma said the people cooperation is important to achieve desired results of development. He said people should take maximum benefits of state and centrally sponsored schemes to uplift their economic and social status. He assured the people that their demands will be redressed on priority basis.
He assured that work on Niabat Bulding at Bhaddu will commence soon. He passed instructions to BDO Billawar to immediately release the pending NREGA wages of the people. He directed the SDM Billawar to identify land for proposed Mini Bus Stand at Billawar. He further directed the SDM Billawar to dispose of the hailstorm compensation cases at the earliest.
Dr Sharma also directed DDC Kathua Zahdia Parveen Khan to review the progress of roads under NABARD and PMGSY.
