REASI, May 19: Balwant Singh Mankotia, president JKNPP along with party leaders Bashir-Ud-Din, district general secretary Reasi, Sagar Singh and others, conducted a tour of the remote area of Gulabgarh in tehsil Mahore.
While briefing about his visit, Mr Mankotia revealed that even after passing of 68 years of independence, the people of Gulabgarh area were neither connected with road nor with electricity. He demanded immediate road connectivity to Gulabgarh area and power connectivity. He further demanded restoration of PMGSY road from Lar to Pagialia.
Public of Lar Panchayat told Mankotia that previous Government had sanctioned one CD block and Higher Secondary school for Lar but after formation of PDD- BJP Govt, this Cabinet decision has been put on hold. Mankotia demanded immediate implementation of the said Cabinet decision and supply of CAPD ration to Gulabgarh, Khod, Pagialia, Lar and Angralla areas, which were facing acute shortage of the same for last three months.
Mr Mankotia along with party leaders, visited the house of Abdul Gani (45), who along with his son Mohd Irfan (13) was washed away on May 12 while crossing Pagialia Nalla near Gulabgarh. Dead body of Irfan has not been recovered yet. The JKNPP leaders came to know that this family was living under extreme poor conditions and not even a single Government official or local leader had visited them. The JKNPP team donated Rs ten thousand to wife of Abdul Gani. Later, they also visited house of Mohd Majid, resident of village Lar, whose wife was also washed away in the same Nallah on 11th of this month and donated Rs 5 thousand to this family. Mr Mankotia demanded Rs 10 lakh compensation for both families from State Government, job under SRO-43 to the family members of dead persons.
