UDHAMPUR, Oct 22: Member Legislative Assembly Udhampur Constituency, Balwant Singh Mankotia today kick started the ambitious project Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme (R-APDRP) Part-B for the upgradation of power infrastructure from Nai- Basti area of Garhi- Rehambal of Udhampur district.
While speaking on the occasion, Mankotia said that estimated cost of the project is Rs. 25.82 crore which would provide improved power infrastructure in Udhampur town besides Garhi-Rehambal area of the district has been included in the scheme as the special area.
Mankotia said that the basic objective of the project is to ensure better power supply for sustained growth of the area. He said that upgradation of power infrastructure in the area would provide hassle free power supply to the consumers besides continuous improvement in quality and quantum of supply would be ensured after the completion of the scheme.
To give benefit of the improved power system to the people of Udhampur town and its surrounding, Mankotia instructed the Engineers of executing agency M/s IRCON International Ltd. to ensure timely completion of the project.
The work would be carried out under centrally sponsored scheme R-APDRP Part-B to improve quality of power. In the project various works on 33 KV, 11 KV and TL System covering construction of two numbers of 33/11KV receiving stations, 20 KMs of 33 and 11 KV lines, 50 KMs of LT cables and 561 numbers of 11/ 0.433 KV distribution transformer sub- stations besides other improvement works would be taken.
Among others, Chief Engineer, R-APDRP, Jammu, Ravi Chamiyal, Senior officers of PDD & IRCON International Ltd, sarpanches, panches and prominent people of the area were also present on the occasion.
