Mankotia calls on Chief Engineer PHE, highlights water scarcity issue

UDHAMPUR, July 10: Raising the issue of water scarcity in Udhampur constituency, former MLA and NPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia today called on Chief Engineer PHE, Dr Sanjeev Kumar Chadda at Jammu and sought immediate redressal of the problem.
Mankotia said that Udhampur town and adjoining villages were suffering from water scarcity for the last four years. He discussed in detail the water scarcity problem of Garnai, Malhar, Jib Thathi, Neeli Nalah, Kembal Danga, Mand, Tikri, Badola, Sunari, Chakk, Padanoo, Sui, Jakhar, Gandala, Seen Thakran, Battal Balian, Rathian, Kotli Megani, Sial Jattan, Krimchi Mansar Panchayats and Udhampur town. He demanded new water supply scheme for Udhampur town and Panchayats which can give sigh of relief to common people.
He also demanded revision of ongoing water scheme at Thanoa and one extra Water Tanker for supply during Amarnath Yatra.
Mankotia also took up the issue of pending wages of all daily rated workers and demanded release of the same besides their regularization.
The Chief Engineer assured early redressal of the issues.
