POONCH, Oct 2: Ghani village in Mankote tehsil near the Line of Control in district Poonch is without power supply for the last about one month.
Residents of the area alleged that the electric transformer installed by the PDD authorities at the village went out of order about one month back. The matter was brought to the notice of concerned field staff within two days of the fault and also to AEE Mendhar, about two weeks ago but despite this the damaged transformer was still lying at the same place and it was neither replaced or repaired. They warned to conduct ‘gherao’ of the PDD Sub Divisional office at Mendhar if the power was not restored in Ghani village within 72 hours.
