SAMBA, Dec 7: Apni Party provincial president, Jammu Manjit Singh has expressed concern over poor amenities in Gujjar Basti.
Addressing a meeting with the Tribal community, he said that the political parties have used the community as a vote bank and never cared for their development, education, or empowerment.
“This community remained neglected and nothing was done for their educational, social, or economic upliftment,” he said.
He said that Apni Party has given representation to every section of society without discrimination and if they come to power, the party will focus on their upliftment.
He said that the Tribal community which sells milk and its products should be promoted to open a cooperative society for the quality of milk and its related products.
“This will generate employment and bring economic prosperity in the community which has faced political negligence for decades,” he said.
He also expressed his serious concern over the poor basic amenities and urged the Government departments to work for them without disparity.
“The selective approach in development shows how a political party influences the work of the Government,” he alleged and questioned the Government departments for failing to provide water, electricity and cleanliness in the localities of nomads.
