Manjit demands pension restoration

JAMMU, Oct 10: Apni Party provincial president Jammu, S. Manjit Singh here today demanded restoration of pension to widows, disabled and old age persons and enhancement of the pension amount.
Addressing a party meeting Singh said that the pension has been stopped by the authorities and formalities for the same have been made stringent due to which the pensioners are facing hardships.
The meeting was organised by Neelam Gupta, women wing worker.
“The pension for widows, old age and disabled persons should be restored with minimum formalities to help the pensioners under Government schemes,” Manjit Singh said adding that the authorities concerned should simplify the required formalities for pensioners.
He said that if Apni Party forms next Government then they will enhance these pensions.
Singh also raised the issue of unscheduled power cuts and irregular drinking water supply in Jammu even after the installation of smart meters.
The meeting was attended by SC Wing state president, Bodh Raj Bhagat; provincial president Jammu Youth Wing, Vipul Bali; provincial president Legal Cell Jammu, Vikram Rathore and others.
