REASI, Aug 5: Member Parliament ,Rajya Sabha, Shamsher Singh Manhas today laid foundation stone for construction of road from village Dhyangarh to village Dharan (stretch over the length of four km) under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Gool Arnas Constituency in district. Reasi. The officers of district administration Reasi including Additional DC, Ramesh Kumar, Executive. Engineers of various departments (PWD, PHE & PDD) were also present. The cost of the project is 3.60 crore.
While addressing gathering Manhas said that the Centre as well as State Government is providing funds far the construction of the roads under PMGSY. He also said that as for as the hilly area is concerned, road connectivity is very much important factor for development. The Gool Arnas & Mohore are the two constituencies which were neglected by the past Governments of NC & Congress in Jammu & Kashmir. But it is the priority of Bharatiya Janata Party to provide every essential things to the weaker section and this was the long pending demand of that area for the construction of the road, which has been approved now.
Manhas said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is very serious to uplift the village class of his country and always ready to serve the rural part and feels that the rural connectivity plays major role in their development. The Central Government under the stewardship of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is taking major steps to uplift the poor class and it is the foremost duty of State Government to put up the major roads on priority to provide connectivity to the rural areas.
Later, Manhas also distributed free LPG connections among BPL & SC/ST families under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
Others present were district president, Reasi, Kuldeep Dubey, general secretary, Joginder Singh, Mandal president Sukhdev Singh, Member Working Committee, Raman Kumar, Mandal president, ST, Morcha Talib Hussain, Attaullah Khan & others were also present on the occasion.
