Manhas launches awareness campaign about Govt schemes

JAMMU, Aug 22: Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India Jammu organized a special outreach programme at Jagti in Nagrota. Member Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Shamsher Singh Manhas was the chief guest on the occasion while Member of Legislative Council Surinder Ambardar was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Shamsher Singh Manhas, said that generating awareness plays a pivotal role in successful implementation the schemes. He strongly advocated organising awareness campaigns for various schemes of Government of India in remote and inaccessible areas of the State for the benefit of the common masses. He emphasised that schemes launched by the Government should be implemented in a proper way as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi so that the benefit of these schemes reaches the grass root level.
Surinder Ambardar in his address, said that Government of India has launched number of schemes for the upliftment of the weaker sections of society. He urged the gathering to avail maximum benefits of schemes launched by the Government from time to time.
Earlier, Neha Jalali, Deputy Director, DFP, Govt. of India while welcoming the guests spoke about the importance of such campaigns being organized by Directorate of Field Publicity across the country. Additional District Development Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta also present on the occasion assured the audience that district administration would leave no stone unturned in proper implementation of these schemes.
Expert lectures were delivered by the representatives of State Bank of India, J&K Bank, Post Office, Health Department and JKEDI on various schemes like Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojna, Sukanya Samridhi Yojna , Atal Pension Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Beema Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojana. Information and facilitation Kiosks by Health Department, State Bank of India, J&K Bank, ICDS, JKEDI were also set up at the venue for on spot registration and answering public queries.
Shubra Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Relief and Rehabilitation, Anu Bhel, Programme Officer, ICDS, Kuldeep Magotra social activist, Kapil Pawan Khajuria and Raju Sambyal, Camp Commandants were also present on the occasion. Theme based cultural presentations by troupes of Song & Drama Division enthralled the audience.
