Manhas kick starts conservation work of pond

JAMMU, Mar 11: Former Member-Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Shamsher Singh Manhas and Ex State president (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir started the conservation work of pond along with corporator Rekha Manhas and Rajiv Nargotra, Zonal Soil Conservation Officer at Municipal Ward No.62 with an estimated cost of Rs 6.75 lakh.
Rajiv Nargotra informed former MP that the Department is planning to construct and conserve several such water ponds for water harvesting in other areas of the Jammu district.
The locals of the area by getting inspiration from the Soil and Water Conservation Department affirmed that they would take initiative at their own level in future for conservation of water. They extended gratitude to Former Member-Parliament, Shamsher Singh Manhas, Zonal Soil Conservation Officer, Rajiv Nargotra and corporator, Rekha Manhas for such noble initiative of water & soil conservation.
Later Manhas visited Chak-Changrwan, a small hamlet in Chinore Village and checked the abandoned work of Kailash Ashram road which connects to Aap-Shamboo Temple Road. Manhas requested Chief Engineer, PWD to expedite the process of construction of remaining portion of the road as it will benefit to about 10,000 souls.
Prominent among those who were present there were ex district president (BJP), Rural SukhDev Singh Jamwal, Mandal president, Yuva Morcha, Muthi-Paloura Mandal, Dushyant Singh, Rajinder Singh, Rocky Jamwal and Dwarka Gupta.
