POONCH, Jan 9: The people from Naga Nari and several other adjoining villages of Sawjian in tehsil Mandi of district Poonch are facing lot of hardships due to the non-availability of electricity and water supply besides other essential commodities.
The local residents alleged that after rain and heavy snowfall, the electric supply to the entire area has been snapped. There is no power and water supply, moreover, due to closure of road the other essentials are also not available.
They appealed the Lt Governor to provide basic amenities to the people of far flung and snow bound areas of Mandi as the local administration has failed to reach out to the general masses.
They said that the school students of the area are not able to prepare themselves for exams due to the non availability of electricity in the area. They demanded to increase the distribution quantity of kerosene oil to 5 liters instead of one liter per family during these harsh winter days when there in no power supply for days together.
