JAMMU, Aug 27: Sarv Shakti Shree Chandi Mata Ji Temple Management Chinote Bhaderwah held a meeting under the supervision of its Sole Trustee and Founder of Machail Mata Yatra Thakur Kulbir Singh Jamwal.
In the meeting, the members of the Temple Management expressed concern over the recent attack on the Holy Mace (Charri Mubarak) of Machail Mata.
While speaking, Sole Trustee Thakur Kulbir Singh Jamwal said that the recent attack on the Holy Mace has shaken the soul of all devotees of Shri Chandi Mata Machail.
He informed that when the Charri Mubarak reached Machail, the volunteers accompanying the Holy Mace were humiliated, harassed and tortured for the reasons best known to present team of the Sanstha at Machail.
“Similar incidents took place in 2010 and 2013. Some of the persons sitting at the helm of the affairs of the Sanstha at Machail seems to be dazzled by the influx of the increasing number of devotees every year in the Annual Machail Yatra and have manufactured a false sense of regionalism in order to take credit and claim exclusive ownership of the Machail Mata Temple and its offering”, Jamwal added.
He said that some of the yatries from Jammu and Udhampur were beaten by the local persons and Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar, who was stationed there remained mute spectator and allowed the vandalism of the local persons to prevail.
The local administration of Bhaderwah, Police authorities at Bhaderwah and Kishtwar were informed on August 17 this year regarding the possible mischief with the Holy Mace, but all remained mute spectators.
The members present in the meeting unanimously decided to discontinue the old custom of taking and brining back of the Holy Mace from Chinote Bhaderwah to Machail village during annual Machail Yatra.
They demanded separate independent Shri Chandi Mata Machail Shrine Board on the patter of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi to be headed by Governor of J&K for the sole purpose of giving adequate security and facilities to the coming devotees in the Annual Machail Yatra.
