Man stabbed with sharp edged weapons, two arrested

JAMMU, May 8: A man was stabbed today in full public view by a group of men over some land dispute at village Hakkal falling within the jurisdiction of police post Chattha.
“Anil Gupta (32) son of Tarsel Lal Gupta, a resident of Village Hakkal in Chattha area of city outskirts, was stabbed brutally with sharp edged weapons this evening by some miscreants, whom he had some old land dispute, in front of the panchayat members, who had gathered to resolve the matter between the two parties”, a spokesman said.
“The seriously injured man was immediately rushed to Government Hospital Gandhinagar. But in view of his serious condition doctors at Gandhi Nagar hospital referred him to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where a surgery was performed on the injured man”, the spokesman further said, adding the condition of the injured was stated to be critical when the last reports came in.
He said accordingly Satwari police registered a case under relevant sections and arrested two of the accused, who have been identified as Shiv Ram son of Bachitar Ram of village Hakkal and his son Surjeet while efforts were on to nab other accused, whose identity is not yet known.
The arrest was made by a police team led by SHO police station, Satwari, Manjeet Singh along with Incharge, police post, Chattha, Krishan Lal Raina under the supervision of SDPO South, Sachin Gupta and SP south, Shaazad Salaria.
