RAJOURI, July 16: The younger brother of a Village Defence Committee (VDC) member shot himself to death using his brother’s .12 bore gun and died in Manjakote area of district Rajouri today.
A police spokesman said that 36-year Naresh Kumar, son of Des Raj, resident of village Patrara (Manjakote) used the gun of his brother and fired a bullet on self killing himself on the spot. Later, police party reached the spot. They seized the gun and shifted the body for postmortem at District Hospital Rajouri.
Police said that man has died under mysterious circumstances and they will investigate all the angles in the incident. They have also detained the VDC member on whose name the gun was issued. Naresh was working as labourer with GREF. Further investigation was in progress.
