DODA, May 22: People of Bhagwah area today punished a person, who had kidnapped a minor girl.
Reports said that one Javed, a resident of Paneen village kidnapped a girl two days back and when he returned today people of the area decided to punish him in their own way. Accordingly, the people cut the hairs of accused, painted his face with black ink, put shoes around his neck and then made him to ride a donkey. Later, they let him free.
When contacted, SSP Doda Zahid Naseem Manhas said, “I have too come to know about such a way of punishment”. He, however, said that neither complaint regarding kidnapping of the girl was lodged nor about the incident of punishment given to the accused.
