RAJOURI, July 28: The police arrested a drug peddler and recovered 4.5 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession near Darhali bridge here today.
A police spokesman said that a police party led by SHO Rajouri, Yashpaul Jamwal, under the supervision of Addl SP Tejinder Singh laid a special naka at Darhali bridge and intercepted one drug peddler Raju, son of Updesh Kumar, resident of Banaras in UP and recovered 4.5 kg of ‘Bukki’ (poppy straw) from his possession. He was on way to UP from Kashmir valley via Mughal Road in a vehicle.
The police arrested the drug peddler and registered a case FIR No. 378/ 2015 against him. Further investigation was in progress.
