JAMMU, May 28: A youth was killed by his own brother by attacking him with a sharp edged weapon in Kot Bhalwal area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, late last night a man identified as Balbir Singh son of Balwan Singh, resident of Kangar (Kot Bhalwal) had a quarrel with his wife and it was so escalated that the man started beating his wife. He said as the younger brother of Balbir namely Joginder Singh (29) tried to interfere and protect his sister-in-law, the angry Balbir attacked his head with a sharp edged weapon (Parthi).
The official said Joginder received serious injuries in the attack and was rushed to Primary Health Centre, Bhalwal but in view of his serious condition, he was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries today at about 6 AM.
“After completion of all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites while a case FIR No 51/2018 under Section 302 RPC was registered at police station Gharota”, he said, adding, the accused Balbir is absconding and efforts were on to nab him.
