RAMBAN, Nov 3: An altercation over cow entering field turned tragic in Gool area of Ramban on Monday afternoon resulting in death of a man.
According to Police, information was received at Police Post Ind, Gool that the cow belonging to Sajad Hussain, son of Mohd. Israel, resident of Dedha Gool, had strayed into the field of Mohd. Abdullah, son of Ghulam Kumhar, resident of Sokhar Dedha after which Mohd. Abdullah began pelting stones at the cow, causing her injuries and also damaging her horns.
This led to scuffle between the two parties and Sajad Hussain allegedly pushed Mohd. Abdullah and he fell and his head hit a stone causing him grievous head injury.
On getting information cops reached the spot and shifted the injured to Sub-District Hospital Gool, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Senior officers, including the SDPO and SHO Gool, along with others rushed to the spot to investigate.
SSP Ramban Arun Gupta said a manhunt has been launched to apprehend the accused.
