JAMMU, May 23: A man of age about 56 years was killed today after a load carrier hit his two-wheeler in Nagrota area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the man identified as Bansi Lal Kotwal son of Amarnath Kotwal, resident of Doda (at present House No 981, Lane No 14, Subhash Nagar, Jammu), was on way to his home on his scooty bearing registration number JK02BA-7156, after attending a cremation in Nagrota area when on reaching near Kamini market, his two wheeler was hit by a Mahindra load carrier (registration number JK02AK-2618) being driven by Sadiq Mohd son of Noor Mohd, resident of Nagrota.
He said in the mishap, Bansi Lal received serious injuries and he was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary of the hospital for postmortem.
“In this connection, a case has been registered at police station Nagrota and investigations started while the accused Mahindra driver was arrested and both the vehicles involved in the mishap seized”, the official added.
