JAMMU, Dec 26: A man was killed today in a road mishap near Batra Hospital, in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the man identified as Abdul Rashid (40) son of Ghulam Mohd, a resident of Qazikund, received serious injuries this morning when he got trapped and pressed between two trucks standing on the road.
The mishap occurred this morning, when after applying hand brake to his truck on the road, where a convoy of vehicles was stopped due to some reasons, the man was cleaning the front glasses of the truck, when the brakes failed and the truck started moving and the man got trapped and pressed between his truck and the other vehicle in front of his truck.
The man got serious injuries in the mishap and was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries at about 11.15 am.
The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for conducting post mortem.
A case in this connection has been registered at police station Bagh-e-Bahu and proceedings started under 174 CrPC.
