JAMMU, Jan 9: A man was killed today in the collision of a car and a mini-bus here near KC Theatre.
According to a police spokesperson, Vijay Kumar Khajuria (65) son of Ganda Ram Khajuria, a resident of H No 39, Sector 7, Extension Channi Himmat, was seriously injured when the Santro car bearing registration number JK02X-1726 in which he was travelling collided head on with a mini-bus bearing registration number JK02BF-3206 coming from opposite side, near KC Theatre.
The injured person was immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
After completing all medico-legal formalities the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
A case in this connection has been registered at police station Bakshi Nagar and efforts started to nab the accused mini-bus driver, who managed to escape from the spot. However, both the vehicles involved in the accident have been seized by the police.
