KATRA, Jan 9: Katra Police today foiled an attempt of smuggling liquor to the holy town and arrested the bootlegger.
Police team laid a special naka at Varun Chowk Katra and intercepted one Indica car, bearing Registration No.4471/ JK14A, driven by one Imran Khan of Chamba Katra. During checking of the vehicle, 43 poly pouches, measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K Excise liquor, were recovered from the vehicle.
Police seized the liquor pouches and arrested the accused. The vehicle, used for transportation of liquor in the holy, was also seized.
In this connection, a case under Section 48-A Act, 188/RPC has been registered at Police Station Katra.
