POONCH, Apr 18: A person was seriously injured when black bear attacked on him at Baleda hamlet in Block Loran, Tehsil Mandi of Poonch District today.
Family members said that Mohd Ismaeel, son of Late Gaffara Kumhar, resident of Chikhri village in Tehsil Mandi went to the hamlet for agriculture purpose. While he was doing work in his land, a bear attacked and left him seriously injured. He was initially taken to road by foot which took more than one hour and later shifted to SDH Mandi in an ambulance.
Doctors said that his left ear was wounded, having injuries on right leg, left eye and on few other parts of the body. Injured was initially treated here and later shifted to District Hospital Poonch.
Medical Superintendent of DH Poonch, Dr Shafiq said that his condition is stable.
Meanwhile, residents of Mandi tehsil have urged Wildlife department to take steps in saving the human lives from wild animals.
