JAMMU, Jan 20: Crime Branch Jammu has registered a case against Mohammad Amin Khan, who had duped people by impersonating himself as PA to the then Chief Minister.
According to the FIR, one Mohan Lal, son of Kaka Ram of Samba lodged a written complaint with the Crime Branch mentioning that he came into contact with one Mohammad Amin Khan of Bagh-e-Mehtab, Budgam, who projected himself as PA to the Chief Minister.
The contact matured into a relationship and thereafter Amin Khan assured the complainant that being PA of Chief Minister he can arrange Class IV jobs for the sons of the complainant. As a consequence of the allurement and the assurance, the complainant paid Rs 25 lakh but no appointment order was issued.
On making protests, the accused asked him to arrange some more candidates for backdoor appointments which were arranged and an amount of Rs 85 lakh was provided to the accused through bank transactions in A/c No. 49630 J&K Bank Residency Road, Srinagar and A/c No. 6498 and 211071, 206030 J&K Bank HS High Street, Srinagar and through cash.
Crime Branch, on the receipt of this complaint, conducted a preliminary verification and it was found that accused Mohammad Amin Khan was actually an employee of Education Department posted in Civil Secretariat and not the PA to the Chief Minister.
The A/c No. SB-49630 provided by the accused to the complainant existed in the name of Tawheeda Khan, daughter of accused Mohammad Amin Khan and an amount of Rs 29,83,730 was found deposited in this account whereas A/c No. SB-21172 was in the name of one Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, son of Mohammad Akram Khan of Sarai Bala Srinagar and an amount of Rs 3,86,963 was found deposited through credit from different branches of Jammu Province which clearly indicated that the accused in furtherance of a criminal conspiracy with his daughter Tawheeda Khan and one Mushtaq Khan cheated the people.
“The omissions and commissions on the part of Mohammad Amin Khan, Tawheeda Khan and Mushtaq Ahmed Khan prima facie, constitute offences punishable under Section 420,406,120-B RPC read with Section 5(2) PC Act, 2006”, a spokesman of the Crime Branch said.
