RAJOURI, Mar 9: The Jammu and Kashmir Police today arrested a man and recovered poppy straw from his possession.
A police spokesman said that this evening, a team of police headed by SHO Rajouri, Ajaz Haider under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Govind Rattan laid a naka at Kheora and started random frisking of vehicles and pedestrians.
During checking police party intercepted one person who was moving under suspicious circumstances. He was put to frisking and 475 grams of poppy straw (bhukki) was recovered from his possession.
The accused person has been identified as Abdul Jabbar, son of Mohammad Azam, age 27 years, resident of Dhanore Jarallan village of Rajouri. He has been taken into custody.
In this connection, a case FIR No 103/2019 under sections 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station, Rajouri.
