JAMMU, July 24: Akhnoor police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a drug peddler and recovered large quantity of intoxicant capsules from his possession.
As per police sources, during patrolling, a team from Akhnoor Police Station led by HC Kuldeep Raj intercepted a man near Kamalian area.
During checking, police recovered 225 intoxicant capsules from the possession of the man and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Subash Chander, son of Charan Dass, a resident of Pangairi Kamalian, Tehsil Akhnoor, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 151/18 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SHO Akhnoor Inspector Shiv Dev Singh, SDPO Akhnoor Munish Kumar, SP Rural Dushyant Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
