KISHTWAR, Feb 24: Police arrested a man and recovered large quantity of illicit liquor from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Kishtwar Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 150 bottles of illicit liquor concealed in a carton from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Asif Hussain, son of Ghulam Qadir of Sadeeq Abad Gudain District Kishtwar.
A case under FIR Number 26/2020 under Section 48 (a) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Kishtwar Inspector Aijaz Wani made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Sunny Gupta.
