JAMMU, Mar 26: A man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself with a tree near his residence in Keri area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gharota Police Station, a police official said.
The deceased has been identified as Ranjeet Singh (42), son of Sai Dass, a resident of Keri, Gharota.
After conducting autopsy, the body has been handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
Inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC have been initiated by Gharota Police to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
