Man hangs self, 4 injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Jan 27: A man today committed suicide by hanging himself with a tree in a field near his residence at Phlayen Mandaal area of city outskirts while 4 persons were injured in separate road mishaps in various parts of the district.
According to a police spokesperson, a man identified as Parveen Kumar (35) son of Gopal Dass, a resident of Banotrechak in Phlayen Mandaal area allegedly committed suicide by hanging self with a tree in a field, about 500 m away from his residence.
He said as quoted by the family members, at about 4.30 am today, the deceased on the pretext of attending nature’s call went to a nearby field but when he did not return late in the morning, the family members launched a search operation and found the body of the man hanged with a tree in a field.
The family members informed the police, which reached the spot and shifted the body to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for post mortem. After conducting post mortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
Meanwhile, three youth were injured in a road mishap at RS Pura. According to the reports, three youth identified as Sunny (23) son of Seva Singh of Janipur, Rajesh (20) son of Sham Singh of Paloura and Arjun (20) son of Sansar Singh of Paloura, were travelling on a bike when it got slipped at RS Pura. The injured youths were shifted to GMCH Jammu for treatment.
A youth was also injured when the bike he was riding on, was hit by a car near Poonch House in Talab Tillo area of city outskirts. He was also shifted to GMCH for treatment.
In all the cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance.
