Man found hanging; migrant worker dies of fall in hotel

JAMMU, Mar 16: A man was found hanging today at his residence in Purkhoo area while a migrant worker from West Bengal died due to fall from a hotel building here in Jewel area.
According to a police official, a man identified as Manoj Kumar (29) son of Badri Nath, resident of Garhi (Purkhoo), was found hanging this morning from the hook of the ceiling fan at his residence. He said after postmortem, the body was hand over to its legal heirs for last rites while Kanachak police had initiated inquest proceedings in this connection.
Meanwhile, a migrant labourer identified as Bijay Soren (36) son of Lodo Soren, resident of West Bengal, died due to alleged fall from the 2nd floor of Hotel Nagina in Jewel area. He along with his four accomplices used to do the painting work in Srinagar and they had just returned from their home state to go to Srinagar but after the closure of vehicular traffic from Jammu to Srinagar, they stayed in the hotel, this morning.
However, in the afternoon, the body of Bijay Soren was recovered under mysterious circumstances from the Hotel complex beneath his hotel room. On getting information, police reached the spot and shifted the body to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu. After cognizance of the matter, Nowabad police had detained four accomplices of the deceased for questioning.
