JAMMU, Sept 3: The dead body of a man was today recovered from railway track in Channi Himmat area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, some locals this morning spotted a dead body lying on railway track at 93.09 km down and informed the police. He said that on their information, police reached the spot and shifted the body to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where after completing all medico-legal formalities it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
“The deceased was identified as Rajinder Kumar (47) son of late Kuldeep Raj, resident of Channi Himmat”, the spokesman said, adding it is clear that man died due to hit by train. “However, it was a suicide or accident, is a matter of investigation”, he further added.
He said in this connection, inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC was initiated at police station GRP Jammu.
