JAMMU, May 10: The dead body of a man was recovered today from a nallah in Toph area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, the dead body of the man identified as Prem Kumar Gupta (50) son of Om Prakash, a resident of Rajinder Nagar, Canal Road, Jammu, was spotted this morning in a sanitary nallah in Toph area by some locals, who informed the police.
He said that on getting information, police reached the spot shifted the dead body to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where after completing all medico-legal formalities it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
“Prima facie it appears that the man was in inebriated condition and he died due to fall in the nallah, which was quite deep”, the spokesman said, adding a case in this connection has been registered at concerned police station and proceedings initiated under 174 CrPC.
