JAMMU, Dec 23: A man died today after falling down from an overhead water tank in Paloura area on city outskirts.
According to police sources, a 36-year-old man identified as Sanjay Kumar son of Satpal, resident of Butta Nagar (Paloura), died on the spot after he fell down from an overhead water tank of PHE Department near his residence, this afternoon.
Quoting family members of the deceased, police sources said deceased Sanjay Kumar was a drunkard and he climbed the overhead water tank and fell down from it under the influence of alcohol.
On getting information of the incident, a team of Police Station Janipur reached the spot and shifted the body to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu. After postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his family members.
Janipur Police had taken cognizance of the matter.
