POONCH, May 29: An elderly villager was injured after he received electric shock at his residence in Mendhar area of district Poonch last evening.
Reports said the incident took place when 65-year-old, Mohd Azam was cutting branches of a tree in his fields at village Sagra. He suddenly came into the contact of live electric wires passing closer to the tree and received severe electric shock and burn injuries.
The family members and locals of the area rushed him to Sub District Hospital, Mendhar where doctors provided preliminary treatment and referred him to GMC Rajouri. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
