JAMMU, Nov 18: A man allegedly died due to fall from stairs in a godown in Narwal area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a man identified as Pawan Kumar (40) son of Sita Ram, resident of Ghar Majoor (Chowki Choura) sustained serious injuries due to alleged fall from stairs of an underground godown at Narwal Mandi, late last night.
He said that the injured man was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. Today after completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
In this connection, concerned police had initiated inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC.
