RAMBAN, June 26: A man has been detained under stringent Public Safety Act.
As per police sources, a person namely Attam Singh, son of Chandey Ram of Chachwa Tehsil Gool District Ramban has been detained under Public Safety Act (PSA) on the orders of the District Magistrate Ramban.
The accused was a hardcore criminal and a declared history sheeter. He was continuously indulging in criminal activities in the area and had created a state of terror amongst the peace loving people of the area. The accused projected himself as the don of his village and lauded his criminal record fearlessly. His activities had the potential to create terror and fear among general public. The accused was posing as a grave threat to the general peace and harmony of the area.
The accused has been detained under J&K PSA and lodged in Central Jail at Kot Bhalwal in District Jammu.
The overall process of detention was successfully conducted under the command of Incharge Police Post IND PSI KhemRaj under supervision of SHO Gool Inspector Mushtaq Ahmed, SDPO Gool Nihar Ranjan and SP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
