UDHAMPUR, Sept 13: A young man from Panchari, working in Katra, committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance in a hotel, here last night.
The deceased was identified as Shambu Ram (33), son of Dhian Singh of Sadota Panchari. He was staying in a room of Modern Hotel, Gole Market Udhampur, where he consumed some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances, last evening.
The Hotel staff rushed him to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared him as brought dead. Later, the body was sent for postmortem.
Cause behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
