UDHAMPUR, June 9: A man committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence in village Champary of Chenani, here last night.
The deceased was identified as 44-year-old Jattu Ram, son of Shaloo Ram of Champary in Chenani. He consumed some poisonous substance at his residence last night and fell critically ill. The family members noticed him in serious condition and rushed him to Sub District Hospital Chenani. The doctors washed his stomach but he did not respond to the treatment and died after some time.
Later, the dead body was sent for postmortem. The police after completion of all the formalities and postmortem, handed over the body to family members.
Cause of provocation behind the extreme step could not be immediately ascertained.
