JAMMU, July 10: A 24-year old man who allegedly tried to end his life on Thursday by consuming some poisonous substance, at his residence in Patta Barn area falling under the limits of police station Gharota, today passed away at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu.
According to a police spokesperson, the man identified as Amandeep son of Ashok Kumar, a resident of Patta Barn, had allegedly tried to kill him by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence on Thursday night.
In unconscious condition he was shifted to a nearby hospital in Mishriwallan, from where after midnight he was referred to GMCH Jammu, where he expired this morning. The body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after conducting post mortem.
The concerned police has registered a case and started investigations.
