JAMMU, June 29: Police arrested a man for selling illicit liquor from village Sheikhupur, falling under the jurisdiction of Arnia police station.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a police team led by SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal apprehended a man near his house at village Sheikhupur along with 35 litres of illicit liquor.
The accused identified as Subash Chander alias Bittu, son of Gian Chand, a resident of Sheikhupur was selling illicit liquor by packing it in pouches among the masses for illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 55/17 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered against the accused at Arnia police station and investigation started.
