Man arrested for impersonating as Food Supply Inspector

JAMMU, June 2: Nehru Market police arrested a man for impersonating as Food Supply Inspector.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by Daleep Singh, a Food Safety Officer with police post Nehru Market stating that a person is duping the shopkeepers in Nehru Market by impersonating as Food Supply Inspector.
Acting swiftly, police team from Nehru Market police post rushed to the spot and during questioning found that the person was impersonating as Food Supply Inspector and duping the shopkeepers by assuring them to renew their licenses if they pay him Rs 5000 each.
Police arrested the accused, who has been identified as Ranjit Singh, son of Rajinder Singh of Shakti Nagar.
A case under FIR Number 98/17 under Sections 419 and 420 RPC has been registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Nehru Market police post SI Kunal made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Ritesh Sambyal, SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
