JAMMU, May 30: A man has been arrested with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches from Karloop Morh area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gajansoo police post.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gajansoo police post laid a naka at Karloop Morh and intercepted a pedestrian on suspicious grounds.
During checking, police recovered 40 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested the person, who has been identified as Arjun Singh alias Mithu, son of Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Pangore.
He was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his native village for selling among the masses on for illegitimate profits.
A case under Excise Act has been registered at Kanachack police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Gajansoo police post SI Rajesh Verma made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Kanachack Rakesh Singh, SDPO Domana SK Sharma and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
