Apollo provides medical assistance to displaced KPs

NEW DELHI, May 30: Leading private healthcare provider Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals has come forward to provide medical assistance to the displaced Kashmiri Pandits at Jagti township near Jammu.
The hospital has set up a day-long, free health check-up camp to provide medical treatment and medicines to those in need at Jagti and Nagrota in Jammu.
The hospital has deputed a Medical team comprising specialists and a consignment containing medicines and medical consumables to Jammu on May 29. The team is working in coordination with local doctors and pharmacists to provide relief to the patients.
The Apollo Hospitals team included senior consultants, namely Dr Shakti Bhan Khanna – senior Consultant Gynaecology, Dr NM Tikoo – Senior Consultant Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Dr Anoop Ganjoo – Senior Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dr Girija Tickoo – Senior Consultant Gynaecology Dr Vijay Kumar Kachroo – Senior Consultant Internal Medicine and Dr Rajesh Kaul –Senior Consultant Pediatrics from Jammu.
“We are trying to extend all possible support to the displaced Kashmiris. A multi-disciplinary medical team has flown to the province along with medical supplies. A day long free health check-up camp is being organized. We will dispatch additional teams of doctors and para-medical staff as the need be,” said Dr Shakti Bhan Khanna, Senior Consultant Gynaecologist at Apollo Hospitals, Delhi.
