JAMMU : A mentally challenged man was arrested by the troops of Rashtriya Rifles while he was moving under mysterious circumstances close to the Line of Control in Keri Sector of Rajouri district.
‘A Srinagar based man was taken into custody by the Army troops on seeing his suspicious movements near the LoC on Rajouri-Veer Bhadreshwar border road in Keri sector last night around 2000 hrs, police sources here today said.
They said that during investigations, it was found that he was mentally challenged and was identified as Manzoor Ahmed, son of Bilal Ahmed Sheikh, resident of Sanwar, Srinagar.
‘According to his statement, he was going to Jammu, police said and added that how he reached close to the LoC, was being investigated.
No incriminating material was found from his possession while a message has been flashed to the police station concerned in Srinagar for further verifications.
‘The man has been handed over to the police post Chingus while investigations are in progress, police added.
