JAMMU, Feb 4: Chairman, J&K Legislative Council, Amrit Malhotra convened a meeting to take stock of achievements registered under Basic Services for Urban Poor (BSUP) here today.
Malhotra exhorted upon the officers to further step up their efforts so that the objective of BSUP of ensuring integrated provision of basic amenities and services to the urban poor like improved housing, water supply, sanitation, education, health, social security etc. is met successfully.
The Chairman directed the officers to ensure early release of instalments of pending cases under BSUP so that the beneficiaries could get their due in time.
Malhotra also reviewed the status of pending works under these funds. He took strong notice of poor sanitation in Jammu city especially in Prem Nagar and stressed upon the need for a systematic execution of these works.
The Chairman also reviewed the work on Purani Mandi Park and asked the concerned for early completion of the same.
Commissioner JMC, Kiran Wattal, Joint Commissioner JMC, Kapil Sharma besides Executive Engineers and Assistant Executive Engineers were present on the occasion.
