SRINAGAR, Sept 25: Chairman Legislative Council, Amrit Malhotra today said that adequate arrangements have been made for smooth conduct of forthcoming session.
Giving details of the business, the Chairman said that Council Secretariat has received 299 questions which included 178 starred and 121 un-starred. He said apart from 3 Private Members Bills, the Council has also received 10 Resolutions, he added.
Malhotra hoped that members would utilize the time fixed for the session judiciously in order to highlight maximum public interest issues in a democratic manner.
Chairman said that adequate siting arrangements have been made for officials and the media persons. Seeking cooperation from media persons, the Chairman appealed them to show impartiality and truthfulness while reporting the proceedings of the session. He said media has important role in highlighting the public issues and hoped that they ( media persons) will discharge their duties with utmost care and responsibility as per practice.
